Adding a new sales rep to your team can increase sales and help you achieve revenue goals. Unfortunately, it’s hard to tell which sales candidate is going to be successful at your company and make an impact right away, and which sales candidate will jump ship after 3 months.
That’s why when we interview sales candidates, we ask questions that focus on their skills, job experience, and career ambition. When these requirements match up to the requirements of the open position, then we know we’ve found a match. For example, if someone has ambitions to become a sales leader very quickly, but we know there won’t be room for advancement in the near future, then this person won’t be a fit. While this person may be a great sales rep, if we can’t provide them a growth opportunity, then they won’t be happy and will seek to find this position somewhere else.
